Whale hunt on BBC's Human Planet - video clip

If you have time see bbc's human planet series for the breathtaking images of human's relationship with nature all over the world.

This video clip shows a whale hunt on Lembata island in Indonesia. The whale hunters only have small wooden boats and hand-made harpoons. To kill the whale they jump into the sea to harpoon the whale.

A very well done series with breathtaking images and acts of pure bravery and skills from people around the world. This whale hunt is very upsetting though because whales are such sophisticated animals who do not deserve to be hunted and killed. As such, it caused controvorsey with many viewers complaining about the impartiliaty of the BBC.

The BBC text reads like this:
"With simple wooden boats and hand-made weapons, the whalers seem ill-prepared for battle, but this is how whale hunting’s been done for six hundred years off the small Indonesian island of Lembata. After an epic eight hour battle the whale slowly tires and a final cut through its backbone is made. The death of a whale may be sad to us, but one catch can feed a village for months. This small scale hunt on Lembata doesn’t threaten whale numbers in these oceans."

Dispatching service - snow aftermath

Unfortunately we are having some delays in dispatching Bumgenius nappies to some orders placed since the week we had snow.  We are due to receive stock from Bumgenius which everyday fails to arrive.  This is because Bumgenius warehouse in Ireland was closed for few days and they have had to deal with a huge backlog, and the couriers they use are also running four days behinds (due to the backlog from the week of snow and because this is a very busy time for them- more info can be found here.

This means we have some orders delayed or we are sending part-orders with some items on back order. If your order was affected we will email you to let you know the status of your order.

The good news is that our local courier is going to work through the weekend to try and deliver us and other customers their parcels, and if we receive the parcels we will also be working on the weekend to process all delayed orders.

Fingers crosss there are no more delays! and we thank you for all your patience!

p.s what the news are saying - The bad weather puts Christmas gifts delivery in doubt (the independent),  and Royal Mail takes on 3,000 more staff to beat weather (bbc)
